There’s a new Kaffe Fassett line, Tula Pink has re-created her first collection for FreeSpirit, Anna Maria designed amazing new cotton-lawns and we’ve got romantic prints by Sanderson, some cheerful animals and many more! The fabric collections ship in Q3 of 2022.

'I was born to run! I ran along the ocean beaches in New York and felt the wind in my hair. I ran in the deserts and high mountains in New Mexico and felt the wind behind my back. I ran in two world Olympics and felt the wind under my feet as I set national and world records in track and field. When times get rough, the tough get going and I felt the wind pushing against me, but I kept on going. There is a spirit in the wind and I call my friend, Spirit Winds! All my paintings are whimsical in nature like the wind that swirls around all of us! "I’ve had an interest in birds as far back as I can remember. One of the first birthday gifts I recall receiving was a large copy of “North American Birds” and a set of binoculars. From a bright little jewel, like the Goldfinch, to the marble expanse of the wandering Albatross, birds appear in shapes, sizes and colors as varied as their song. A walk in nature would not be the same without birdsong, and who knows if we ever would’ve flown if birds hadn’t shown us the way. Birds of a feather is my tribute to birds. I hope it inspires you as much as birds inspire me."

Each of us has our own unique touchstones…Those personal and powerful signposts along the way that confirm we are on the right path at different points in our life, giving us that A-HA! spark of validation. As a visual artist, I often find myself unexpectedly inspired by something that has caught my eye. Snapshot worthy moments spark and ignite the creative in me, evoking a memory or feeling… These touchstones consistently make their way into my artwork which is, after all, at the heart of all that I create.. My newest collection, Touchstones, offers a glimpse into some of my most personal keepsake moments, whether it be a pebble or seashell that feels right in hand, a pressed ginkgo leaf that I tuck away and save, or a special sunrise/sunset view that reminds me of a meaningful moment in time. Touchstones is a companion collection to my Time & Tide fabrics, which so many of you lovingly collected. I hope you notice some beautiful connections between both collections.

Belle Epoque | Stacy Peterson
The “Beautiful Age” was an era of great prosperity and cultural exuberance from 1890-1914 in Europe. The Belle Époque collection is inspired by the magnificent homes of that era and the gardens within. It is feminine and romantic in nature, with an emphasis on florals. The main print features a heavenly spirit, who still wanders her estate caring for her flowers. The patterns range from delightful ladies taking selfies, to fluttering moths and playful cats peeping beneath blooming wisteria. I explore the graceful lines of the art nouveau movement and the strong graphics of art deco. I hope you’ll enjoy what it must have been like during the Belle Époque.

Parisville {Deja Vu} | Tula Pink
'Parisville was my first collection for FreeSpirit Fabrics which was originally released in 2010. This collection marked the start of a new partnership that has gone on to last more than a decade! The collectability of our print fabrics has continued to rise over the years. My goal is to make some of these older, hard to get, prints more accessible to new makers while preserving the integrity of the original collection. I have learned a lot about color and fabric design since I designed my fabric collection in 2006 and I am bringing all of that knowledge and experimentation to the new “Deja vu” collections that I hope to continue releasing once a year. The first installment of the “Deja vu” series is a favorite of mine. Parisville marked a directional change for me as an artist into bigger, more colorful designs that had a larger story telling quality. I have breathed new life into Parisville using a dreamy color palette of bright pastels and rich citrus colors. The design of Parisville was based on the story of Marie Antoinette, in all of it’s unnecessary decadence, as seen through the lens of what a young girl might think is “fancy”. It was only natural to pull the new color palette from a buffet of ice cream colors and dessert treats. This collection is like frosting, its sweet, decadent and entirely indulgent. I have left the designs largely intact in an effort to preserve the original qualities of the prints that made them popular in recent years. I made one notable change to the main print. The Cameo print had 3 different hair styles when it was first released and the new print focuses on only the most coveted and classic sailing ship hair style that best represents the narrative.'
